Our engineers can attend out of hours to minimise disruption to your business. During The Annual Duration Test the lights will need to be switched off for up to three hours to ensure the emergency lights are functioning correctly.

Emergency Lighting certification is issued upon completion and any deviations from BS:5266 or defects will be highlighted for your attention and we will suggest remedial measures. We cover all luminaires and signs to check that they both function and comply.

We can contact you when your inspections become due and complete all required logs to ensure compliance with BS:5266. Our prices can be viewed here and to its quick and easy to book. Our inspectors will advise if your installations meet the current requirements. And if they don’t, then we will advise on the best course of action to ensure compliance.

An emergency escape lighting system should cover each of the following areas of a commercial building.

  • Each exit door
  • Escape routes
  • Intersection of corridors
  • Outside each final exit and on external escape routes
  • Emergency escape signs
  • Stairways so that each flight receives adequate light
  • Changes in floor level
  • Windowless rooms and toilet accommodation exceeding 8m²
  • Fire-fighting equipment
  • Fire alarm call points
  • Equipment that would need to be shut down in an emergency
  • Lifts
  • Areas in premises greater than 60m²

The legal requirements are quite stringent and are constantly being updated so it is important to have regular checks to ensure compliance.
After your Emergency Light Testing we also offer remedial works to bring the system up to a compliant standard.
